Yūgen is a Japanese term that loosely translates to the beauty within the universe that cannot be expressed with words, rather felt. It is something we feel within ourselves, an object of awe and appreciation. Yūgen values the power to evoke, rather than the ability to state directly.
We are an India-inspired, handicrafts-embroidery-textile driven, Bohemian vibing fashion accessories brand.
A brand that stems from a very free and happy place. There is a little something for everyone!
We create for anyone who loves a little colour, quirk, value, uniqueness, and sparkle in their lives. And nothing that is created is something we wouldn’t want for ourselves. It is an extension of our soul.
Our products are detailed-oriented, handmade, zero-waste, eco-friendly, vegan, and we practice Fairtrade. We are also big believers in the Slow Fashion movement.
In a world of fast fashion, low prices, and discount culture it is easy to forget where we come from. A land so beautifully culturally-rich, colourful, vibrant, and unique that we have an end number of different kinds of embroideries, handicrafts, textiles, and skilled & talented karigars who hardly ever get their due.
Yūgen respects and values them, and their craft; while adding our own Unique twist to it.

D E S I G N PHILOSOPHY
Slow Fashion --- promotes a more ethical and sustainable way of living and consuming. It focuses on both slowing down consumerism &capitalism, respect the environment and is ethical in it's core.
Zero Waste --- a set of principles focused on waste prevention that encourages the practice of recycling and redesigning. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills or the ocean. Fashion and style that generates little or no textile waste in their production.
Upcycle --- reuse old, discarded, damaged objects or materials (in our case, garments and jewellery) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value. Giving new life to what was once considered dead.
Handmade --- all our products are ethically handmade, handcrafted and locally sourced.
Detail-oriented --- just like life is made up of little moments, we believe that a great unique design is made up of those tiny little details. Seek and ye shall find!
Quality --- accessories that make you stand out, last longer, are unique and durable. But don't forget, handmade products come with their own unique imperfections. So please be tolerant.
Vegan --- we're 100% cruelty-free. No animals are harmed in the making of our products. We love them more than anything! Infact, part of our profits goes toward animal welfare.
Eco-friendly --- need we say more?!

The Lotus is a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. It is the a way to remind us that even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.
Bright, Beautiful, Durable, Pure and Unique. Why unique? Because the lotus is the only flower in nature that seeds and blossoms at the same time. The perfect example of the duality of cause and effect.
As a Buddhist, nothing felt more befitting and spiritually on-brand for us and what we stand for than the Lotus.
The arrows symbolize directions, like a compass. a way to show us where we've come from and where we're going.
And since our founder's name is Disha, it all formed a perfect circle.
